I want an opal

Beatiful and uncanny stone, appear a extreme hardness but in reality is fragile. Changes its glint depending of intensity and light angle as well as temperature. Is almost impossible to cut and give it shape because it breaks in surface leaving terrible wounds impossible to heal.

Has existed in our history from since greeks on century VI BE (before our era) believed who carry it, would clairvoyant. For romans to have a opal meant power, even roman senator Nonio, preferred exile to give to Marco Antonio a ring embedded with opal.

In midles age, was considered protective against eye and heart diseases, and cholera.

Was until XI century that, Roberto the Devil said opal that he had giving to him malignant powers, so the opal reputation fell from grace, and almost form the stone malignancy, ocurred in XIV century that victims of the Black Death had an opal, this increases its glint when the carrier contracted the deseases and this overshadowed when the carrier died. Nobody cared that opal is susceptible to corporeal temperature changes. Opal fell from grace.

In the XIX century, all ring carrying in spanish royal family perished, without exception, no matter that cholera struck that region killing more than 100 000 persons between summer and autumn in 1885.

Now that the human is no longer superstitious as it was in the Dark and little less in Renaissance, the stone no longer have human curses.

For that and other things... i want an opal

Non Scholæ sed Vitæ discimus

Vasco Nuñez de Balboa was the first man who saw from a Panama summit the two oceans. The Mayflower pilgrim came to populate to now called America and in begining was thought Indian. Cube was a Asian part and in coast had sirens with face of men and rooster pens, and not far away were people with tails. Sir Walter Raleigh on Guayana saw to people with eyes in shoulders and mouth in chests.

On Venezuela, Fray Pedro Simón saw people with ears which are dragged in soil. In the Amazonas river, Cristobal de Acuña saw people with twisted feet.

All this, for many years were irrefutable truths, who dared to opposite, or doubt it, were reprimanded, harassed, whipped, threatened, tortured, flogged or executed. But now, that information is no longer transmited to new generations. But still in primary school it reads in scholar text that Cortes cried in Sad Night (A spanish wrote that?).

No many years ago we "celebrated" the day of race, The "meeting" of 2 civilizations, Which means one of it was sacked, uprooted outraged.

The danger of that is because we does not understand that we read. Thanks to current educative model, we need to memorize segments of books, no matter if we understand or if we agree. More of one of us, have a low degree for saying "Sorry teacher, but the true story is...".

So how we can fix these mistakes? Is so hard as to say to mexicans that our ritual "Day of dead" is not our tradition, but the spanish.

We have not time to make a change, people cling more and more to few things that they know, because they feel safe with it. Every change in knowledge is hard, if that knowledge is religious so is more difficult.

The unique solution can be protect to new generations from past mistakes and show them the recent modifications. Hoy many children know that underworld king, Pluto, some years ago, was lowered almost to faithful servant level, which in the river which separates two worlds, Caronte?

Non Scholæ sed Vitæ discimus: We learn for life, not for school.

Dinosaurs and weight

The beauty of time, is that we can review the things and in case, rectify it, however the popular culture is responsible of to encase the aceppted precepts from the beginning, making continue in the minds of all us, the wrongs precepts, even after years of be know that is wrong.

The spinachs are not so nutritive, was erred in decimal point, giving it 10 times more nutritunional value. In schools is still seen the Börh's atomic model, which only it work for hydrogen atom, but after years has variations in Sommerfield and Schrödinger's atomic models, even the matter conservation law of Lavoisier was refuted by mass and Einstein's energy equilvalence.

Now is the dinosaurs turn, the magazine "Jornual of Zoology" of the london  Zoology Society, indicates that scientifics has rectified about the dinosaurs weight, and they have reported that dinosaurs were not too big as previously thought and now have been stereotyped in many movies, now have been discovered mistakes in ecuations used for calculate its weight since 25 years, making it decrease even half on its tonnage.

The animal leg diameter is directly proportional to its corporeal weight, is therefore as bigger was a dinosaur, its feet would had bigger volumen insomuch that it was imposible to walk for many dinosaurs. The model exact volume is got by water amount that is displaced of measurer cylinder, and the volume becomes to weight throught a factor that represent the proportion volume/weight of the crocodile meat. After make a scale with de size when the dinosaur were alive.

The ecuations becomes more difficult when is about a animal in movement, and acquires difficulty directly propotional to the speed of itself. These ecuations has been partly corrected, but still are inaccurate, with time exist the posibility to have a significant improvement.

The problem is if these corrections has got take in account in books, magazines and above all, movies, since in cited examples in beginning of this articule, still continue extending in our culture and giving us a wrong information about our world. Which we will transmit to next generations.

What is the damned particle?

Versión en español: http://elgatofausto.blogspot.mx/2012/03/que-es-la-maldita-particula.html

Originally "goddamn particle" and stupidly translated as "god particle"

The truth and its reality

Just as during almost 25 years was exhibited in the egyptian hall of New York Metropolitan Museum, a bronze cat that supposedly had 2300 years old, and they realized it was a fake, so we can live 25 years, or a lifetime, defending what that someday be recognized a lie.

Some want have enough life to know the truth, to learn more, for tasting that strange taste that we have when we know that our perception is wrong.

Some will blame their parents, professors, friends or society, for "forcing" themselves to believe or to think in that mistake. But, does not everyone have the freedom to choice in what to believe? Yes, but we chose for the comfort of believing in what others believe.

Even though Emiliano Zapata was killed and his body was showed, there are people who insist and persist in keep believing that he was still alive. Actually we are not so diferents, so we can still seen in religion, policy, sports and our daily lives.

As say somewhere:

The absolute truth do not exist, and that is absolute truth.

To read the original note of brozen cat in 1987:

Heroes for one nation, villains for church

Fray Servando and the guadalupano cult

Fray Servando (1765 - 1827) believed that guadalupano cult was dated back to christianity preaching by Santo Tomé, whom the indians called Quetzalcoatl and they believed that Juan Diego's mantle was the layer of the "holy", so that the virgin paint was not supernatural. The image was painted on the "holy" layer, not in Juan Diego's mantle.

- Vida y muerte de la inquisición en México.

Have never been able to find a record that Juan Diego exist. Why when the children grow up, tell them the truth about Santa Claus, the magic kings, the tooth fairy, but continue telling them other histories? I do not mean about the religion itself, but stories that history has not been proven, or is known to be false. Like Juan Diego's existence, or the heroes kids' story of Chapultepec.

According to José López Portillo's book, Quetzalcoatl was taken to Coatzacoalcos, a canoe was improvised and 3 times he was hurled to sea, and 3 times he was returned for the sea. At the fourth attempt he moved away to east, he wanted to return to his land (Spain?). All presents held their breath until they saw him to vanish beyond horizon, he left knowledge, teaching, hundreds of years before the spanish, he brought the cross (therefore Hernán Cortés was surprised to see on México many civilizations as Toltecas whom knew the christian cross).

According UFO researchers, a big star descended to Quetzalcoatl, he climbed up it and leaves this earth for return to his earth beyond the stars. As evidence, they gives a carved figure in stone of what appears to be a cosmonaut.

According popular belief, Quetzalcoatl died on Coatzacoalcos and he was carried on foot (?) until now called Pico de Orizaba, they climbed it (?) and in the top of the crater, they threw him inside itself and shortly after pop out from crater a big fireball and it climbed until the heaven, making a new star, therefore since that moment, the mountain is called Citlaltepec, or star hill.

Do not make us think this until what point we accept all the stories that are talking in around us?

We search to preserve the status quo which govern on the most conservative sectors of our society?

O just happen that we have become intellectuals bulimics and we are starved of useless and superfluous knowledge.

If that last occurs, then we are becoming in unlearned beings, waiting the big Deus Ex Machina (call it god, government or anyone else being or organization to which we put our trust and part of our life) to descends and it tell us what is the truth, its truth as was represented in the greek outdoor theaters.
